SC real estate license on the way
I started the new year off with applying for my SC real estate license. I thought about it all through 2009, but continually put it off.
By the end of January I will be licensed in NC and SC.
Many of my friends live in the Fort Mill and Lake Wylie area. I've had encouragement from them to get my SC license.
Most of my clients who are relocating to jobs in Charlotte, NC start out trying to decide if they want to be in Lake Wylie (SC) or Lake Norman (NC).
The builders I have worked with build in both NC and SC (just outside of Charlotte).

Did you know this about celery?
Who knew these benefits of celery?
It can reduce high blood pressure
Can be useful in helping painful joints
Can be good for urinary disorders
Celery juice helps with kidney stones
sometimes used medically to treat mild anxiety and agitation
May be useful in cancer prevention
**Organically grown is best because of pesticides used**
Check with your Dr if you have any of the above issues to see if putting celery in your diet regularly can help. I did a google search of "Celery Benefits" and came up with this list. You may want to do your own search there was a lot of information to read thru. I read up on celery being used for many, many years for medical problems. Of course what we eat today isn't grown in the wild but a very interesting read if you get a few minutes to research all of the articles on line.

If you are new to Twitter..........
I have a quick tip for all who are new to Twitter.
Remember to upload a photo, put your coverage area and write something in your bio space about your interest and hobbies. This goes a long way when people are deciding whether or not they will follow you.
Also, Once you've done this be sure to put in your first "tweet". So many people create a profile and then don't go back to tweet. It can be anything. You may even want to start with "This is my first day on Twitter". This in itself will get you some replys and followers. Then you can tweet about your favorite music, hobby or sport. Of course you'll want to tweet about real estate too but I don't advise you to do "All work and no play". Most of my @ replys come from my personal tweets not my real estate tweets.
I am by no means a Twitter expert but this is a simple tip that will only take a few minutes and be well worth your time.

Four year old Preston Loyd of Mooresville was critically injured in a lawnmower accident in April 2009. He lost his spleen, kidney and stomach. Doctors call his recovery so far, a complete miracle. I hope ALL "Mom's" had a wonderful Mother's Day. Many of my friends are mother's to a 4-legged "child". I sent them all a card or email to wish them a Happy Mother's Day as well.

I wanted to share a few tips I learned today in a Blackberry Class. These shortcuts were totally new to me and others in the class.

3 press U for unread messages
4 press B to go to bottom of email
5 press T to go to top of email
6 press P to go to previous day's email (depending which Blackberry you have, you may need to be on the actual date bar
7 press N to go to next day's email
8 press S to save email message
This is just a few things I learned but most everyone in the class were "thrilled" to learn these tips.

FOOD "ROUNDUP" for children's home
Baptist Children's Homes are having there annual food "roundup". Peninsula Baptist Church in Mooresville, NC is one of the drop off locations.

10 year old places 1st overall in 5K run
My ten year old niece Paige M Cooper placed first overall female at the Alexander County YMCA 5K Relay For Life on April 4, 2009. Paige has won several races in her age category but this was the first time she received 1st place for overall female.
Paige began running with her mother in 2008 and proved to be a "natural".

3. At night before going to sleep remind yourself of -what you are Thankful for and -What was one thing I accomplished today.

I wanted to share just one verse of a poem by Russell Kelfer that is in Rick's book.
No, that trauma you faced was not easy.

So that into his likeness you'd grow.
Remember this is just one verse of a poem in "day 2" of his book. I FEEL LIFE IS GOOD WHEN YOU KNOW YOUR PURPOSE AND CAN ANSWER "WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR".

faster in the Lake Norman, Mooresville and Charlotte markets by having great curb appeal. You have to get the buyer in the house before you can move forward.
Interior staging and a good floorplan is important but is no good if you can't get the buyer to enter the home.
Pay special attention to the front porch/stoop area. The buyer is checking everything out as there agent is opening the lockbox.
Make sure there are no cobwebs. Putting pots on the front porch area with plantings can help. You may need to replace the front door or paint the door and replace door handle and lock.

A must do this spring in the Lake Norman and Charlotte, NC area
My 2 elementary school age daughters have put the Carolina Raptor Center on there MUST DO list for spring 2009. The center is located in Huntersville, NC
We usually take the girls at least once a year. Carolina Raptor Center is in a natural setting and home to many raptors including; Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, Barn Owls, Barred Owls, Screech Owls, Hawks, Falcons and more. Carolina Raptor Center treats injured and orphaned raptors. This is a very educational and fun experience.
On our last visit to CRC, a volunteer gave my 7 year old daughter an owl print. She treasured it so much we had it framed and hung it in her bedroom.
